One time I survive being hit with an AA missile from Lunetta, with my comrades Bill Anderson and John Wiegand. This was back was the enemy was still able to design and manufacture there own surface to air missiles. When we were first hit it was a sudden scare, however we were able to still functions. With the craft still intact, we were able to maneuver it, into a crash landing into the Indian Ocean, away from the enemy's land force. It is true that a healthy landing capsule, is meant to land on the ocean. Ours' had a hole punctured through the one of the tanks, causing it to eventually sink. With the time allotted to us, where were able to manufacture a make shift life raft, which ultimately kept us afloat, until help arrived.
The reason this is the most painful experience, is due to the fact that were starving, and exposed to the elements. The ocean, might not be as exotic as space, but it still can be a terrifying place.
